Sustainability

As a sustainable business, we provide solutions to meet demand for sustainable products that won’t end up in the landfill.  Currently New Zealanders send on average over 60 kgs of plastics per person to landfill every year. The New Zealand Government has pledged to phase out many single use plastics by 2025.

Each Honeywrap is made from natural, reusable materials and saves the equivalent of 75 metres of plastic wrap use over its lifetime. To date Honeywrap customers have saved over 40 million metres of plastic wrap ending up in landfill, waterways and our oceans.

The Sustainable Business Network has conducted a survey that shows 96% of people want products to be made from materials that could be reused, repaired, or recycled.  Honeywrap provides other sustainable plastic free solutions that can be reused such as organic cotton produce bags, stainless steel drink bottles, straws and pegs.

To eliminate manufacturing waste our Firestarters are made from off-cuts from our production run of beeswax wraps which means our wraps are waste free.

In the spirit of a better sustainable way of doing business all Honeywrap products are packaged in recyclable cardboard packaging, a natural renewable material, from sustainable forests.

We give back by supporting New Zealand artists to create our beautiful authentic designs.  In addition, we donate funds and give back to charities and organisations on social and environmental projects such as Project Jonah, Forest & Bird and Save the Kiwi to raise funds and awareness for the work they do.
